Rapid cost recovery of the refrigerated dryer: By extending the lifespan of the filtration cartridges.

The integrated cooling unit in the Tornado refrigerated dryer removes the majority of moisture from the compressed air, preventing it from reaching the HYPERFILTER filtration system. This significantly prolongs the lifespan of the filter cartridge (up to 5 times longer autonomy).

It is recommended to exclusively use genuine COLTRI HYPERFILTER filter cartridges to comply with the pollutant limit values of the EN 12021:2014 breathable air standard.

Operating principle:

  • Moisture-laden air is directed from the final separator of the compressor to the RF500 refrigerated dryer. The heated air is still saturated with 100% water vapor and oil.
  • In the Tornado cooling unit, the temperature of the compressed air, and thus its pressure dew point, is lowered to approximately 3°C to 5°C. The cooled air can no longer retain the contained moisture, causing the water vapor and oil to condense.
  • The compressor separator collects the condensate, preventing it from reaching the HYPERFILTER filter cartridge, which would otherwise reach saturation much more quickly.
  • The automatic condensate drain evacuates the condensate into the compressor unit's collection tank.
  • The cooled and dehumidified air is directed from the Tornado refrigerated dryer to the HYPERFILTER filtration system.
